Slackware-1.1.55.diff1 will do this for a standard 1.1.55 kernel: Add nec260-0_3 patches (NEC CD-ROM on the IDE interface) Add sony535-0.6 patches (Sony 531/535 CD-ROM drives) Add dpt_EATA_0.3a patches (EATA compliant ISA and EISA SCSI) Add Adaptec 274x SCSI patches. Add Always in2000 patches. Fix a couple floppy driver bugs. NOTE: IN2000 and Adaptec 1742 drivers should not be compiled into the same kernel. Do not compile the NEC CD-ROM driver into your kernel unless you have an NEC CD-ROM driver attached as the slave device on your IDE controller. I have no idea what it does if it finds a hard drive there... Slackware-1.1.55.diff2.quota should be applied after Slackware-1.1.55.diff1. It adds user/group quota support. Slackware-1.1.55.diff3.ramdisk adds this text before a ramdisk is loaded from floppy: Please remove the boot kernel disk from your floppy drive, insert a root/install disk (such as one of the Slackware color144, colrlite, tty144, or tty12 disks) or some other disk you wish to load into a ramdisk and boot, and then press ENTER to continue. Using these patches may prevent new kernel patches > 1.1.55 from patching in cleanly, so be aware. NOTE: I've made new patches for 1.1.58 except for quota -- they don't patch in cleanly anymore. Hopefully these will be upgraded soon. In the meantime, use the 1.1.54 kernels with quota support if you need it. Good luck - Patrick Volkerding volkerdi@mhd1.moorhead.msus.edu
